I could not agree more with your opinion that it's those kind of statements that make newspapers (and those associated with them) appear uncaring and uninvolved. I thought your newspaper was supposed to reflect the community and youth sports is an important part of our community. Now time for my opinion: I think the quality of the sports section has deteriorated since this sports editor has come on board.

Dear Anonymous: At least we have the guts to put our names on our opinions.
I learned a long time ago that when a written letter crossed my desk, the first thing to do is to look to see if it is signed. If it was unsigned it went straight to the trash.

Because the web is more open and anonymous comments are more the norm, I will leave your comment.

But it's not worth the pixels it takes to display.

Huh... I'd say the mark of immaturity is a colleague talking trash about you on the internet. As someone once wrote, "a mature person knows when to keep their trap shut." Too bad that person can't follow his own advice. UNPROFESSIONAL.

Mark,
After reading Mr. Heldman's article, I wanted to see what you had written. But, all I can view is: He then offers his "wish I had done it" list. PS: just to clarify, I am a newspaper relic, too.

Also being a relic, I was really interested to read your point of view, especially since I largely agree with Mr Heldman.
